 As your next State Senator for the 2nd Essex District, I am committed to enhancing sentencing laws and ensuring stricter bail requirements, particularly for illegal immigrants. Illegal immigration poses a significant threat to the safety and well-being of our district, with over 30% of all 911 or emergency calls related to illegal immigrants. This strains our resources and puts our community at risk. We need to implement mandatory detention for any crime committed by an illegal immigrant, holding them for ICE and their detention process to prevent dangerous individuals from remaining in our communities.

I support bail reform to increase bail requirements, ensuring that repeat offenders and those who pose a significant threat to public safety are not given the opportunity to reoffend. Lifetime sentences for fentanyl dealing are crucial in the fight against the opioid epidemic that has devastated our communities. We need to send a clear message that dealing in this deadly drug will result in the harshest penalties.

Qualified immunity for police is essential to allow our law enforcement officers to do their jobs without fear of personal retribution. Our police officers put their lives on the line every day to protect us, and they deserve our full support. Without qualified immunity, we risk losing the brave men and women who serve and protect our communities.
